Our parks, trails, and green spaces are amenities that many families find very appealing.  These amenities&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;,&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;however,&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;require&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;constant&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;upkeep and maintenance&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;to keep them looking and functioning their best.  As our community&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;has matured&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;, some common property is beginning to show its age&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;and needs to be replaced.  Many of you have noticed that the split rail fence around&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;Meadowbrook&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;Park&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;has begun to rot and is starting to fall down&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;  We have been nursing the fence along for several years now with “patches” and extra braces but it has become apparent that these efforts are not going to work&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;anymore&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;.  The fence has deteriorated to the point that it needs to be replaced for both aes&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;thetic and safety reasons.  The&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;dete&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;rioration adversely affects the Gap Creek signature feature and poses a risk to all who visit our park with so many of the posts and rails rotting and beginning to fall.  To protect our c&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;ommunity value and the safety of&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;our residents, the Board of Directors, having considered all of the options, has decided we need to replace the fence as soon as possible&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 0pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 0pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;Over the past&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;two&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;months, the&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;Board of Directors&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;has&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;taken several bids from different&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;fence&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;companies&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;. W&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;e have decided to replace&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;the old fence with a&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;similar looking post and rail fence made of red cedar that will&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;compliment the area décor&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;.  The estimated cost to tear down the old fence and put up the new one&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;is&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;around $1&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;1&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;,000. It was suggested at the annual meeting that a “special assessment” be collected from the members to&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;help&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;cover this expense.  The BOD voted last month to do just that and ha&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;s&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;decided a $50 special assessment&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;fee is needed from each property owner. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 0pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="margin: 0pt; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;Each property owner will be receiving a letter in the mail detailing this information and the necessary forms to submit your payment for this upgrade to our community. The city of Sherwood will pick up all yard waste left on the curb on a weekly basis during the summer months. Surely you have seen all of the hail storm repair shops and hail damage sales at dealerships.  You may have also noticed a number of roofs in our neighborhood being repaired as well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Board of Directors would like to encourage our homeowners to make contact with roofing professionals to ensure your roof was not impacted.  Most insurance claims have a time limit from the time of the event to when a claim is valid.
